I realize that I watched Trigun for the first time 20 years ago on my 14th birthday march 31st. Weird how it both seems both not long ago and really long ago. I was still chicken pecking at the keyboard to type on newgrounds, and didn't start using sites like ASMB or 4chan for another 2 years. Even starting the bleach comic and making this account 11 years ago doesn't seem like it was that long.
Sorry for pretty much the year without updates from me. I've had some people DM me asking how I've been doing; so I figure I may as well do an update. The past year I've primarily been hanging out on twitch. Talking with and interacting in the vtuber community and discords. I've even been writing the lore for some vtubers, have about 30 VIP, and even Mod some channels. I will say that I have been around the internet for a while. As communities go twitch vtubing community is the most welcoming and least toxic community I have seen. There is still toxicity, but it's usually contained to that streamer making it easy to avoid. Though if you are looking for fun communities to be a part of I highly recommend smaller vtubers on twitch. Many are very welcoming and I can give some suggestions if anyone would like. Even though I am not always in here; I do still check in fairly regularly.
Some may know already, but my health has never been the best; this year especially. So far this year I've had a lung biopsy, was diagnosed with skin cancer and had two operations to remove that, got banned from a forum where I knew many people for over a decade for telling off some trolls for making fun of my cancer, and just got results that I am covid positive despite all my attempts at isolation. As of now I do believe I'm recovering well, better than I would have expected in fact as my original thought was that I would have just died. I'll share some of my personal experience with recovery. First overwhelming fatigue and hot and cold flashes. I had 5 days where all I did was sweat and feel like I was freezing. When I say sweat I mean sweat. I had to switch to the couch for a night and set up fans in my room because my bed and pillows were soaked through with sweat. I was also having wheezing and a sharp stabbing pain in my chest. At that point I decided to go to the ER.
At the ER my fever was gone. The doctors were treating this more like seasonal bronchitis; but also did the covid test which came back positive. Treatment so far has just been high dose prednisone and Motrin. They said that all the treatment they have right now are simply to control swelling and to return to the ER if breathing worsens or my fever returns.
Right now I would say that the fatigue is still really noticeable. Wheezing isn't as deep, but still feel sore from coughing and the overall fatigue. As for how I caught it, I know it was from my brother who always coughs but says he isn't sick. The number of people I had to call was 3 that I have been in contact with the last couple of weeks. So it really adds to the annoyance that I went all these steps to avoid people the past year and this is how I catch it. That's life though and it is what it is. My dad also got sick, but he insists that he's fine.
The doctor I talked with said that I can leave quarantine Tuesday on the condition that I don't have another fever between now and then.
